Our Lady of La Vang

Our Lady of La Vang Forest

Our Lady of La Vang is a beautiful story of healing, nourishment and faith. In Vietnam, early in the eighteenth century, a Catholic community was being persecuted. They fled and took refuge in the rain forest; the people suffered and became ill. Every day at dusk they gathered at the foot of a tree and prayed together. The story tells us that Our Lady of the Forest came to them in a tree. She was winged by angels and held the divine child Jesus tenderly in her arms. She showed the people the plants and seeds of the forest that would heal and nourish them. This community gave thanks to Our Lady of La Vang Forest. The community flourished and is now a vibrant Catholic community in La Vang, Vietnam.

Why we value what we do.
